Flowback Friday: U Will Know
Normally I post hip-hop videos on Flowback Friday, but a friend unearthed this powerful gem from 1994 that transcends genres.
Black Men United: U Will Know
As I watch this video featuring some of the biggest black male musicians at the time, I wonder, where is this unity today? Lately I’ve been lamenting the lack of black male leadership in our communities. This is not to say that there aren’t brothers putting it down for the community, there definitely are. But we don’t have enough of our brothers stepping up to rebuild. I don’t know why. I can’t explain it. As a (relatively) young black male myself, I’m constantly questioning my role in the community and trying to do more.
We need you, brothers.
