They Playin’ Basketball

One of the things I love about the Journey Church is the Growth Groups, which are small groups that get together for spiritual growth. I’m currently in a men’s basketball group. We’re reading the book Wild at Heart by John Eldredge. The group discusses the week’s reading, and then we play basketball. We also talk to each other about what’s going on and make a list of prayer requests so that we can pray for each other.

I appreciate the group because it gives me the opportunity to grow spiritually as well as work on my physical fitness. Basketball is my favorite sport, and I’ve been meaning to get back into the game after a long hiatus.

Growth Groups are not exclusive to Journey members, anyone can join. Unfortunately the men’s basketball group is closed, but are plenty of other groups to choose from. Take a look and seen if any interest you.
